Welcome to the California Academy of the Arts (CALIACA), where passion meets culture and movements tell stories. Our class schedule is designed to cater to dance and music enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels, offering a variety of classes that celebrate the rich heritage of California.
We are proud to announce the start of a brand new music program under the direction of Coral Nuno and Assistant Director Matias Zuniga. This new program encourages musicians of all ages to embrace Mexican cultural heritage through Mariachi music.
For musicians ages 10 and up, we offer Mariachi violin classes. These are the perfect classes for novice musicians interested in learning how to play the violin.
For musicians with at least one year of experience with violin, guitarron, vihuela, trumpet, or guitar, we invite you to participate in rehearsals with Mariachi Rey Coliman.
Our Folklorico Beginner Tots class, led by the nurturing Maestra Dominique, is the perfect introduction to dance for children ages 3-7. Join us on Saturdays from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM and watch your little ones blossom into confident dancers.
For the young and vibrant souls aged 8-12, join Maestro Luisito for our Folklorico Youth classes every Wednesday and Friday from 6:00 PM – 7:15 PM. Dive into the world of traditional Mexican folk dances and learn the colorful routines that have been passed down through generations.
For those aspiring to master the art of Folklorico, our Folklorico Open Intermediate class offers a deeper dive into the intricate footwork and storytelling elements of this captivating dance form. Led by esteemed instructor Lic. Rodolfo Ruiz, this class is designed for dancers aged 16 and above that are interested in learning Folklorico at a higher level without joining BFRC Academy or BFRC Company.
Folklorico Academy is a transformative journey for dancers aged 12-16 seeking to hone their skills under the guidance of Maestro Luisito. Join us every Wednesday and Friday from 7:17 PM – 8:30 PM to refine your technique and express the artistry of Folklorico through captivating choreography.
For the seasoned dancers and performers, our Folklorico Company classes with Maestro Elias Roldan on Sundays from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM are an opportunity to refine your skills and showcase the grace and passion of Folklorico on stage.

Our Beginner Hip Hop Tots class is an introduction to hip hop for dancers aged 4-7. Joining this class is a great way to get your kids fired up about dance.
